Feb. 17, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. UMC Aspen Room Register by Feb. 13!
Students have been the driver for sustainability initiatives at CU Boulder for over 40 years. With climate change looming we need to take action now more than ever. The Getting to Carbon Neutrality Forum will be an unprecedented opportunity for students to interact with key members of the CU staff on sustainability issues. During the forum students will learn about the successes on campus, but also the challenges that remain. Students will get the unique opportunity to brainstorm innovative solutions and learn how they can help implement those solutions. The forum will begin with a staff panel that will highlight their successes in sustainability and the challenges they have encountered. After the panel lunch will be served. Students will then chose the topic that interests them most and will participate in a discussion with panelists and other students to identify solutions to these challenges. Topics for the discussion groups include zero waste, green purchasing, transportation and fleet, energy and water conservation, renewables, and curriculum. Spaces are extremely limited, but students that have been active in sustainability or are looking for ways to get more involved are encouraged to register. Students that can attend the entire forum will be given preference, but all will be considered. Lunch will be provided for all registrants. This forum is the next step of a long line of student-led initiatives on campus. Be part of the next wave of student action! |
