Most of the population does not even know where their energy comes from.  One might flip a light switch notice the light turns on, but hvae no idea how this happens.  So, where does this power come from?  Many would be surprised that 80% of the electricity used in Boulder is produced at the Valmont Coal Fired Power Plant, and that CU-Boulder is responisble for 4.7 tons of CO2 per student every year.  Our goal at the Environmental Center is to inform and educate  our community on how our energy use affects the environment and contributes to climate change.  We are a resource for those interested in finding solutions to the climate crisis.

Curious how this electricity gets to you?
