LEED Buildings

Part of CU's commitment to sustainability can be seen in the new LEED certified buildings popping up all over campus.  This initiative started with student leadership when students demanded that all new construction on campus be LEED certified.  LEED (Leadership in Energy and Design) is the US Green Building Council's certifcation for sustainable buildings.  Find out more about LEED and USGBC on their website.

Green building practices offer an opportunity to create environmentally sound and resource-efficient buildings by using an integrated approach to design. Green buildings promote resource conservation, including energy efficiency, renewable energy, and water conservation; consider environmental impacts and waste minimization; create a healthy and comfortable environment; and reduce operation and maintenance costs.
