• White & pastel paper
• Envelopes (labels/windows OK)
• Fax, copy, computer
• Stationary & letters & notebook paper
• Letterhead
• Brochures, ads & pamphlets
• Blueprints
• Greeting & index cards
• File folders (manila/pastel)
• Opened junk mail
• Carbonless forms
• White ream wrappers
• Adding machine tape

UNACCEPTABLE OFFICE PAK ITEMS

• No dark, bright or neon paper
• No stickers
• No brown/orange envelopes
• No phone books
• No paper towels, plates, cups
• No grocery bags
• No wrapping/ tissue paper
• No carbon paper
• No sheets of address labels
• No photographs
• No wax/plastic-coated paper
• No textbooks
  
• Don’t worry about removing: sticky notes, staples, paper clips, spiral bindings, rubber bands, tape, plastic tabs, or envelope stamps/labels/windows.

 

Newspaper

• All newspapers
• Advertising inserts (glossy only are OK)

UNACCEPTABLE NEWSPAPER ITEMS

• No other types of paper (besides glossy inserts)
• No plastic delivery bags
• No paper bags

 

Co-Mingled Containers

• Glass bottles & jars
• #1 & #2 plastic
• Aluminum, tin & bottles & jars steel cans
• Clean aluminum foil
• Metal lids/caps (removed)
• Empty aerosol cans
• Drink boxes
• Paper milk cartons
  

UNACCEPTABLE CO-MINGLED ITEMS

• No plastic cups/tubs
• No drinking glasses
• No plastic bags
• No plastic lids/caps
• No Styrofoam
• No non-#1 or #2
• No juice bags/pouches plastic containers
• No vases, dishes, mirrors,
• No vitamin/Rx bottles
• No light bulbs

 

Corrugated Cardboard

• Corrugated cardboard
• Pizza boxes & ("pleats" between the two outer layers)
• Brown paper
• grocery bags

 

Magazines & Phone Books

• Remove plastic wrapping (magazines & catalogs)
• Phone Books
• Paperback Books
• No hardcover books
• Paperboard (single layer only, no corrugated cardboard)
• No other recyclable papers (office pak, newspaper, cardboard). Place in designated recycling bins.

Paperboard

• Cereal, cracker boxes & (remove inside bag)
• 6 & 12-pack cartons
• Paper tubes
• Paper egg cartons
• Shoe boxes

 

Special Materials

• Diskettes, Transparencies and Tyvek envelopes (separate materials and mail in small quantities to Recycling at Campus Box 209).
• Toner Cartridges (printer and some fax). Deposit at any of the 5 campus copy centers.
